Most lists of weird websites recycle the same handful of sites the internet decided were strange back in 2008, and nobody has checked them since. I’ve spent years hunting for odd corners of the web, and I’ve learned that real weirdness is hard to fake.
The strangest websites usually aren’t trying to be weird at all.
They come from artists building exactly what they imagined, hobbyists who never cared about traffic, small businesses that ignored every design rule, and old projects still running long after anyone explained them.
That’s a very different thing from a site built to go viral.
